A. In FUE method the hair grafts are taken individually as one out of five or six hairs which leaves no any scar behind while in strip method, a strip with hair grafts is taken out from donor part on posterior head leaving a scar behind. FUE is an advanced scar-less technique.
Q 5. When can one see the final results?

Q 8. What are the techniques of hair transplant?
A. There are two techniques for hair transplant depending on hair follicles extraction. The popular technique is known as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) in which hair grafts are taken out from densely grown hairs which is called donor part and is situated at posterior part of head. The hair grafts are taken out as one from five to six hairs and then transplanted to bald or recipient parts. The second technique is however not in practice nowadays as in which a strip with hair grafts is taken out from donor parts, dissected to make grafts and then these grafts are transplanted to bald parts on head, beard, mustache, eyebrows, eyelashes etc. The skin on head where from a strip is taken out, and then stitched. This method is not in practice nowadays it the scar of the strip stays permanent and patient do not like to have a permanent scar on his head which is visible during short cut hair styles. These procedures can be performed by talented and well experienced surgeons.
Q 9.What is the difference in the post-op precautions of both techniques?
A. During Strip method much care is required during sleeping, stopping taking exercises, doing strenuous work to minimize the pressure on stitches for around seven days while in case of FUE technique patient can do his/her daily routine job next day and feel no pain at all.
Q 10. In which cases FUE is better than STRIP Technique?
A. FUE is better than Strip method in all cases as it is a scar-less, painless, bloodless technique. During its surgery no pain and bleeding is experienced by patients, secondly it leaves no any scars on head where from the grafts were extracted out from donor parts. Nobody can judge the donor part on the head after recovered hair growth.
Q 11. What is the difference between hair and follicular units?
A. Hair usually grows naturally in follicular units of one, two or three groups which if extracted together and transplanted, grow in a very natural way if the follicles are genetically active.
Q12. What is the time gap between individual sittings?
A. The time gap between the individual’s sittings for FUE technique is set up by the hair transplant surgeon. It may be performed during consecutive days or after few days or weeks, however it takes more time in case of Strip method.
Q 13. Is there any difference in the no. of follicles extracted by these methods?
A. Obviously yes, the number of follicles required can be taken out easily during FUE technique if more sittings are needed while in case of Strip method which usually provides more grafts, second strip of grafts if required will also leave another scar on head.
Q 14. What about the scarring?
A. FUE technique leaves on any scar for extraction of hair grafts from donor parts while Strip method leaves a permanent stitched scar around the posterior hair.
Q 15. When will the scabs fall off?
A. The scabs after a HT procedure at the posterior head and front fall off after seven to ten days and one cannot recognize the sites from where the hair grafts had been taken out after two weeks.
Q 16. What about the healing period?
A. For FUE procedure the healing period is faster and patient can go home after the HT surgery while in case of Strip method patient has to rest for at least a week to recover health.
Q 17. What is the life of transplanted hair?
A. The lifetime of transplanted hair is equal to the donor area from which the hair grafts were taken out; usually the donor is a permanent hair zone.
Q 18. Why FUE is costly than Strip method?
A. FUE technique demands more time and labor to extract individual hairs from donor parts as compare to Strip technique.
Q19. How many hair grafts are required to cover the bald area?
A. It depends on how wide is your bald area; more hair grafts are required for wider bald areas on head as compared to beard, mustache, eyebrows and eyelashes.
Q 20. Do the transplanted hair look natural?
A. Yes the hair transplanted through FUE technique look natural, they grow natural and you can cut them to obtain your desired hair style too.
